At First Security Bank, we have worked hard to eliminate the hassles that come from starting a new banking relationship. Simply follow the steps below and if you need any additional help, stop by one of our branches and ask one of our team members.
How it works - 5 easy steps
Step 1: Gather your information
- Valid photo ID (driver's license, state ID, or passport
- Social Security number or taxpayer ID
- Current account numbers and routing numbers for accounts you'll transfer from
- Recent bank statements (last 2-3 months) for any accounts you wish to transfer or close
- Voided checks and debit card (we'll buy them from you for $25!)
Tip: if you don't have everything. Come in anyway, we'll help you track down the rest.
Step 2: Head to one of our nearest branches to you. Or Open your new account online.

Step 3: Update Your Bills
Be sure to update any monthly or regular bills (utilities, auto loans, home mortgage, etc.) that you pay. To make sure none of your bills/subscriptions aren't forgotten, we've created a friendly Switch List to help.

Step 4: Direct Deposit Authorization
Complete this form and submit it to your employer to start using Direct Deposit or to change an existing Direct Deposit arrangement.
Step 5: Close your existing accounts.
Close your old checking account(s). Make sure all pending purchases/payments have cleared before closing the old account! We've provided you a form to get the process started.
