We're pleased to announce the following promotions:
Debra Mickelberry to Branch President of the Three Forks Branch. Debra grew up in Three Forks, and started with First Security in 1982. She has experience in all areas of banking, and 29 years of lending experience. Currently a councilwoman on the Three Forks City Council, she also serves on the City Board of Adjustments variance committee.
Mike Walstad to Senior Vice President/Chester Loan Production Office Manager. Mike joined First Security Bank in 2007 and has been lending in Liberty County since 1983. Mike has 38 years of banking experience. He has specialized in Agricultural and Commercial loans for most of his career. Mike is active in the community, serving on the Sweet Grass Lodge Board, as an EMT for the Liberty County Volunteer Emergency Services, and on his church finance council. He has previously volunteered with the library board and the hospital board.
Cathy Smith to Vice President / Real Estate Servicing Manager in Bozeman. Cathy has been a valuable asset to First Security Bank for the past 39 years. She has over 25 years of experience in the Real Estate Lending Department, having served as Real Estate Loan Closer and Department Supervisor. Cathy also volunteers annually for SWMBIA’s Parade of Homes.
Kim Wertz to Vice President / Real Estate Underwriter in Bozeman. She started as the Assistant Auditor in 2011, and was promoted to Real Estate Underwriter in 2015. She received Bachelor of Science degrees from Montana State University in Economics and Accounting. Her prior experience includes working with a local CPA firm and as a state bank examiner. Outside of work, she serves as the Treasurer of the Board for Child Care Connections.
Jen Barnett to Assistant Vice President, Human Resources/Marketing Specialist in Fairfield. She started with the bank in 2008 in the HR & Marketing role. She has extensive experience in human resources, recruiting, management, training, and customer service. A graduate of Fairfield High School, she has a Bachelor’s Degree from Montana State University. She was the Fairfield High School Cheer Coach for six years and currently serves as the President of Eagle Pride, Fairfield’s parent booster group.
Robin Mueller to Assistant Vice President/Loan Administration in Fairfield. She has been with the bank for 24 years in the cash management, data processing, new accounts, and loan areas. Robin has supervised the Loan Asset Quality Control Center for the past 5 years. A graduate of the University of North Texas, she cheers on her grandchildren and their teammates at section at local school, sporting, and scouting events.
Sam Gilmer to Business Development Officer in Bozeman. Sam joined First Security in 2016, and has over 17 years of banking experience across the consumer lending, deposit servicing, and general operations areas. A native Montanan, he has been active in youth activities coaching his children.
Elex McAlear to Real Estate Loan Officer at the Big Sky branch. In banking since 2011, Elex started with First Security in 2014 as an Account Specialist, and was promoted to lender in 2016. Originally from Twin Bridges, he graduated from Montana State University in 2003 with a B.S. in business management. Elex volunteers with a variety boards in Big Sky.
Kevin Ward to Senior Credit Analyst in Bozeman. Kevin joined First Security Bank in September 2015 as a Credit Analyst. He was born and raised in Bozeman and Graduated from MSU in 2010 with a B.S. in Economics and a minor in Business Administration. He previously worked for Senator Baucus at the US Senate Committee on Finance before returning home and working as a regional manager for his parent’s business. Kevin is currently pursuing his MBA from the University of Montana and recently received certification as a Community Bank Credit Analyst from the ICBA.
